Information to Gather Before migrating IMAP or Exchange to Microsoft 365
- Size of each user's mailbox. It would
also be helpful to have an idea whether any folders are only in Outlook, or reside in any other locations such as a Gmail server.
- Do any users currently have calendars or
contacts set up in Outlook, Gmail, or someplace else that will need to be
migrated to the Exchange server? If so, we will need on each user, where
the data is, and what they wish to migrate.
- On how many computers and devices will each user need help setting up the new account? For example, computers, phone, tablets.
- Distribution lists moved or created?
- Public folders need to be moved or created?
- Are there any mail accounts that do not belong to a particular user such as a general info or contact
inbox? It may make sense to convert them to shared mailboxes.
