Unsupported Products and Services

Rabbit Hole Products

Products we won’t agree to work on, unless it is to assist client in switching to a better product.

  1. Earthlink email service or software
  2. Mac Mail app (workstation application; we will provide limited support for the iPhone app)
  3. Windows Mail app
  4. Verizon, TW or other ISP-provided email service
  5. Window Live Mail app
  6. AOL Desktop Software (advise client to use AOL web site)
  7. Outlook 2011 for Mac
  8. Outlook 2016 for Windows. Customer should upgrade to newer version or some version of Office 365 Apps.
  9. iCloud
  10. Sugar Sync - not supported for migrations nor for support of any kind. Migrating away from this software is a big headache and we cannot be involved in that.
  11. Internet Explorer. IE 11 reached its "End of Life"  in 2022 and is no longer receiving security updates. Microsoft recommends using Microsoft Edge instead. Firefox and Chrome are also acceptable replacements.

Products we’ll work on with no Guarantee of Success

We’ll work on them but let the customer know that there is no guarantee that we’ll succeed.  Even if we succeed, there is no guarantee the customer will not have further issues. Suggest to customer they put a time limit on it.

Third-Party Email Providers:

  1. PERSONAL Gmail Accounts
  2. Yahoo
  3. Personal OneDrive Accounts (on non-managed computers. RMM devices should not have personal OneDrive installed. If we notice a personal OneDrive account on an RMM workstation and it's causing an issue, we must remove it.)

Personal OneDrive Accounts

As of June 2024, we no longer allow users to install personal OneDrive accounts on workstations managed by us. Verbiage:

Personal OneDrive accounts pose a significant security risk to your organization, as they can serve as a vector for malware infections on user computers and by extension on your network. Secondly, these accounts can conflict with business OneDrive accounts, leading to unnecessary downtime and workstation issues for these users.

Effective immediately, as part of our "new workstation" set-up process, access to personal OneDrive accounts will be disabled.

For users already signed into and using a personal OneDrive account on their current work computer, we will not intervene. However, if we are asked to troubleshoot an issue related to a personal OneDrive account, we will inform the user that we will need to remove that account. Of course, we will ensure that no data is lost during this process.
