How to Send Confidential Info Using the Secure Note Web App

 Use this app to send sensitive info such as passwords and bank account info in encrypted manner. Do not send sensitive info using plain text or via email or SMS. 


On the left, under Snippets, click "New snippet."

 

  1. For the title we usually say something descriptive like "John Smith's email credentials"

  1.  Under content, try to be specific about what exactly is being provided. Always provide both a username (assuming there is a username) and the password. For example, 

 

username: jsmith@company.com

                              password: xewj490ffgk


  1.  Under the "Shred when" dropdown box, choose "Later."

  1. Make the shred time value between 3 and 10 days out depending on the customer's need and the value of the data.

  1. Click “Create Snippet” and copy the URL. 

  1.  Send the user the URL, reminding them that the link will expire soon so they should save the info securely.
