Deactivating Configuration Items
Deactivating RMM Configuration Items
RMM Configuration Items should always be removed via the RMM portal. This will cause them to automatically be deactivated in Autotask.
Once they are deactivated in AT, Roberta receives an alert in Slack and will sync the item one last time from IT Glue so it deactivates.

Do not manually deactivate configuration items (called "configurations") in IT Glue. This is done via Sync.
Deactivating Non-RMM Configuration Items
Non-RMM Config items should always be deactivated in Autotask.

Once they are deactivated in AT, you will need to run a sync on the item from IT Glue so IT Glue will update the item status to Inactive. (This is a bug in IT Glue. Once an item is deactivated in AT, IT Glue will no longer sync the item in the auto-sync so the item will remain active in IT Glue. It has to be manually synced from the item itself.)

Do NOT manually deactivate configuration items (called "configurations") in IT Glue. This is done via the Sync.

It isn't necessary to archive the configuration item in IT Glue if it's been deactivated, but it doesn't hurt to do. (Items that can't be deactivated (such as passwords) should always be archived if no longer valid or in use.)
