Break Glass in AdminByRequest

AdminByRequest is the Mac version of PAM (Privilege Access Management)

A Break Glass Account is for situations such as when someone without logon credentials needs to service the endpoint. The provisioned account is a temporary local administrator that must be used within an hour. At expiry time, the temporary account is forcibly logged off and terminated. A log is kept for every account that is created

  1. To use the Break Glass feature: 
    1. Go to Inventory 
    2. Click Details for the device to which you want to provide access. 
    3. Click Break Glass on the left. 
    4. Set the expiry date and click Generate account button
      1. You will see the generated username & password in the read-only User and Password boxes:



      1. Copy the credentials and send to customer via Secure Notes



After the allotted length of time, the user is logged out and the account is deleted
