Break Glass in AdminByRequest
AdminByRequest is the Mac version of PAM (Privilege Access Management)
A Break Glass Account is for situations such as when someone without logon credentials needs to service the endpoint. The provisioned account is a temporary local administrator that must be used within an hour. At expiry time, the temporary account is forcibly logged off and terminated. A log is kept for every account that is created
- To use the Break Glass feature:
- Go to Inventory
- Click Details for the device to which you want to provide access.
- Click Break Glass on the left.
- Set the expiry date and click Generate account button
- You will see the generated username & password in the read-only User and Password boxes:
- Copy the credentials and send to customer via Secure Notes
After the allotted length of time, the user is logged out and the account is deleted
