Tech Best Practices

Scripts

Please remember that when you run a script, job, RMM component, etc. to install software, if there is a dashboard that the software reports to, you should always confirm that the device shows up in the dashboard. (e.g., AutoElevate, Webroot, Datto RMM). It’s not enough to confirm the software is installed on the device.

The same thing applies when removing software, and with adding or removing email addresses from Microsoft, Intermedia, etc.

Please make this a part of the installation when you do it.

Licenses

Please inform Roberta via email if you add or remove a license for an end user. Some of the checklists and instructions remind you to do this, but some do not say it explicitly. As a general rule, it's always better to assume you should inform. This includes licenses for:

  1. Microsoft 365 (let Roberta know if you've synced the license count from Pax8 to AT or not)
  2. Keeper Security
  3. Duo

and any other licenses sold on a "per user" (as opposed to a "per machine") basis.
