There
are a few factors that effect the timeline when we are ordering a new machine
for you.
It takes time to put the quote together, depending on how busy we are and what
availability is with our vendors at any given time. There is a lot of
back-and-forth with our vendors to find the best combination of options. Even
if it’s a machine we’ve previously ordered, often the same options are not
available and we have to start the configuration process from scratch.
In
order to get the right machine and make sure it’s compatible with the monitors,
we usually have them custom built, which also takes more time to ship.
On
top of all that, Intel chips are sometimes in short supply, due to supply chain and trade issues.
So the more notice you can give us, the better chance we can
get you exactly what you need in time. As soon as you have a position open, please let us know immediately
that you will be needing new machines. There’s no reason to wait until you
actually hire a specific person and determine their start date.
This way, we can order the computers in plenty of time,
instead of it becoming an emergency at the last minute.
